“YOU CAN’T HIDE”

These days, the white light on the porch is covered with activity. Myriads of moths and various winged creatures swirl around it in a mesmerized state. They are attracted to the light, but they don’t know why. Scientists have theories but no one seems to be sure why.

Darkness comes in different forms: hopelessness and despair, blindness to faults, substance addiction, abusive behavior and more. All of it is the result of running from the light that is in Jesus Christ. When we do that there is no alternative but darkness.

Jesus says, we are the light and we can’t hide (see Matthew 5:14). In other words, it is impossible and uncharacteristic of light to hide. It blazes in contrast to the inky midnight. As a result, those who don’t want to continue in darkness will be drawn to the light.

How are we light? According to Jesus, our light shines through our good actions (see Matt. 5:16). This is what Summer S.A.L.T. is all about: doing things that glorify God; and as a result becoming attractive and magnetic to all kinds of people. People will be attracted to the Light like bugs to a lantern!

Here’s to a brighter and attractive Christianity. Let’s quit fooling ourselves. We’re the light and we can’t hide.
